About The Founder
AITA Culture was initiated by Helena Sugden, a Melbourne-based student driven by a deep belief that the way we speak and treat one another has a profound impact on people’s lives. After experiencing the loss of someone close due to mental health struggles, Helena became determined to understand the root causes of bullying and its long term effects. Through research and observation, she recognised that everyday words and behaviours can significantly influence emotional wellbeing.
Although kindness is widely encouraged, Helena observed that without meaningful reinforcement, it often becomes “white noise” and is easily ignored. As a result, unkind behaviour continues to occur throughout our daily lives. within families, schools, workplaces, and across social media, showing how common and overlooked it has become.
In response, she developed AITA Culture, a student-led initiative designed to encourage kindness as a daily habit and to create a system where positive behaviour is not only expected, but recognised and valued.
Helena’s vision is to help shape a generation that understands: what we say matters, and how we treat others can change lives.
How the AITA program works
Our Mission
Firstly, we aim to raise awareness.
Through AITA branded products and initiatives, we hope to gently remind people to speak and act with kindness, to their family, friends, classmates, colleagues, neighbours, and everyone around them. Because the words we use and the way we treat others have a powerful and lasting impact.
Secondly, we aim to build a structured rewarding system.
Funds raised through our initiatives will go towards developing the AITA Rewarding System, a platform where individuals can record their positive actions and be recognised through a system similar to a “kindness account.” These contributions are rewarded with “seeds,” which can be converted to goods or services etc.
By recognising and reinforcing kindness, we aim to:
• Encourage lifelong positive habits
• Reduce bullying through prevention
• Create a new form of value based on contribution
• Build a culture where kindness is visible, meaningful, and rewarded

Seeds are a way of recognising and rewarding positive behaviour within AITA Culture.
You can choose to keep your Seeds as credits to track your positive contributions, or redeem them for AITA products, selected goods, services, and other meaningful rewards. In some programs, Seeds may also be exchanged for special experiences or approved rewards such as pets, where appropriate.
More importantly, Seeds represent growth. Each Seed symbolises the impact of your actions and the positive values you are building within yourself and your community.
AITA Culture is a values-based program supported by multiple areas including technology, media, product development, retail partnerships, marketing, and community outreach. Because of this, there are many ways individuals and organisations can contribute.
